More Recycling Information
The following list is what is now acceptable and unacceptable in your "Office Pack" recycling cans. Use the dark green office pack bins in your main office area, and the "blue pitches" at your desk.
Acceptable Papers
•White ledger (bond, typing, copier, index cards, etc.)
•Colored ledger
•Envelopes (colored or white with or without windows)
•Fax paper
•Carbonless paper
•Pamphlets & brochures (but not magazines), stapled but NOT glued
•Manila and bleached file folders
•Catalogs
•Direct Mailings (opened & sorted for contaminants)
Unacceptable Papers
•Magazines
•Newspapers (or inserts)
•Unbleached paper
Don't worry! No need to spend time removing these from your recyclable paper:
•Paper clips
•Plastic tabs
•Metal fasteners
•Wire spirals
•Rubber bands
•Plastic spirals
•Staples
•Press apply labels
•Tape
•White paper ream wrappers
•Pressure sensitive notes
Recycling Clusters
Use these recycling clusters (made from all recycled materials) for:
•Newspaper
•Aluminum, and Plastic #1 and #2
•Glass
•Trash (non-recyclable - goes to the land fill)
Cardboard Dumpsters
There are now cardboard recycling dumpsters by most campus buildings.
Please use them!
•Cardboard MUST BE FLATTENED before putting into the dumpsters.
•There is a 40 yard recycling dumpster for steel in Central Stores parking lot and wooden
pallets may be contributed or removed from the neatly stacked pile.
